SMS Terms
Version 2026-09-16.1
Draft prepared by the Nobility team on 2026-09-11; counsel review pending. Program terms for the appointment text messages, and the separate offer texts, described in our Privacy Policy.
Program
Program name: Nobility appointment texts. Sender: Nobility, 205 Glastonbury Blvd, Glastonbury, CT 06033 (hello@nobilitybarbershop.com). Offer texts: a separate program you join only by ticking its own box (see "Offer texts" below).
How you opt in
When booking on nobilitybarbershop.com you may tick the optional, unchecked-by-default box "Text me about this appointment" and enter a US or Canadian mobile number. Your consent is recorded with the date, time, the version of the words you agreed to, your IP address and browser, and the number and the appointment it was given for. That appointment's texts — including the Cash App pay link, if the shop uses Cash App — go only to the number you entered for it. No purchase is required and texting is never a condition of booking — leave the box unticked and that appointment's confirmation, changes, reminders and pay link arrive by email instead.
The words next to the box, exactly as the booking page shows them (shop name "Nobility"), when the shop uses Cash App:
Nobility will text this appointment's confirmation, changes, reminders and a Cash App pay link to this number. Msg frequency varies: usually 4 texts per visit, more if it's rescheduled. Consent isn't a condition of booking. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out of all texts, HELP for help. US and Canadian numbers only.
and when it does not:
Nobility will text this appointment's confirmation, changes and reminders to this number. Msg frequency varies: usually 3 texts per visit, more if it's rescheduled. Consent isn't a condition of booking. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out of all texts, HELP for help. US and Canadian numbers only.
What we send
Booking confirmation, changes, cancellation, reminders about 24 hours and 2 hours before your appointment, and — if the shop uses Cash App — a pay link about 30 minutes into your cut. Message frequency varies: typically 3 texts per appointment (4 if the shop uses Cash App), plus one for each change or cancellation, and fresh reminders if you reschedule. These appointment texts carry no marketing or promotional content. Appointment texts — reminders and the pay link alike — are sent only between 8 am and 9 pm shop time (Eastern); a pay link that quiet hours would hold past the payment window is emailed instead. A reminder, or a confirmation, change or cancellation text, held back because it fell outside those hours can still be texted after 8 am, if it is still relevant. A waitlist text held back for the hours is not sent later; its email still goes.
These are informational texts about an appointment you booked, not telemarketing or sales messages. Offers and last-minute openings are a separate program, described next.
Offer texts
Nobility texts offers and last-minute openings to a number whose owner ticked the separate, unchecked-by-default box "Text me offers and last-minute openings" when booking — with one exception: if you asked to hear about a fully booked day by joining its waitlist, we text you when a spot opens that day (see "Waitlist texts" below). Ticking the offers box is never a condition of booking, and your consent is recorded with the date, time, consent version, IP address and browser. The words next to the box, exactly as the booking page shows them (shop name "Nobility"):
Up to 4 texts a month from Nobility. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out, HELP for help. Not required to book.
Offer texts go to the number you entered with that box: at most 4 in any 30 days, never to a number on the do-not-text list, and only between 9 am and 8 pm shop time (Eastern), as Connecticut law (Conn. Gen. Stat. §42-288a) requires for sales messages. The shop cannot send an offer that includes texts outside those hours, and an offer text is never saved up to go out later. Every offer text ends with "Reply STOP to opt out, HELP for help. Msg&data rates may apply." Reply STOP to any text to stop all texts to that number, offers included — that stops appointment texts too. To stop offer texts and keep appointment texts, use Account → Privacy → "Stop offer texts" in the app, which takes the offer-text consent off your client record straight away, or email hello@nobilitybarbershop.com (the route to use if a barber recorded your consent and you have no account).
Waitlist texts
If you have agreed to appointment texts and join the waitlist for a fully booked day, we text the phone number saved on your account once when a spot opens that day. Waitlist texts carry no offers, are sent only between 8 am and 9 pm shop time (Eastern), never go to a number on the do-not-text list, and do not count toward the offer-text limit. Reply STOP to stop all texts.
Cost
Message and data rates may apply. Nobility does not charge for texts; your carrier's standard rates do. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
How to stop, and how to get help
Reply STOP to any message to opt out: no further texts go to that number, appointment texts and offer texts alike. The one exception is an answer to a message you just sent us: if you text HELP we text the help message back, even to a number on the do-not-text list.
Reply HELP for help, or email hello@nobilitybarbershop.com. HELP (or INFO) sent on its own gets this text straight back, at whatever hour you send it: "Nobility: appointment texts and offer texts from Nobility Barbershop, 205 Glastonbury Blvd, Glastonbury CT. Msg&data rates may apply. Reply STOP to stop all texts. Help: email hello at nobilitybarbershop dot com". Replying START, UNSTOP or YES turns texts back on and gets a short confirmation.
You can also book without ticking either box. Other words stop texts too: CANCEL, END, QUIT, UNSUBSCRIBE, REVOKE, STOPALL, OPTOUT, or a reply with "stop" or "opt out" anywhere in it. Texting CANCEL stops your texts — it does not cancel your appointment. Change or cancel a booking in the app or by calling the shop.
Privacy
Your number is used only for the messages above, is sent to our texting provider, Textbelt, to deliver them (Plivo, Vonage or Twilio would receive it only if we switch to one of them), and is removed from your account, your appointments, the shop's client book and our message records when you delete your account. One exception: if the number replied STOP, it stays on our do-not-text list — even after account deletion — so it is never texted again; replying START removes it. We also keep a record of each text addressed to you that we deliberately did not send — for example because the number is on the do-not-text list, it was outside texting hours, or the offer-text limit of 4 a month was reached — so the shop can see why a text did not arrive. An offer text is never addressed to a number without offer-text consent or on the do-not-text list: that number is simply left out of the offer, and no record is made of it. In the app, shop staff see only the last four digits of the number. These held-back records are deleted 395 days after they are made; the record of a text we did send is kept for as long as your account, and the number in it goes when you delete the account. Nobody at the shop can take a number off the do-not-text list; only a START reply from that number does. See the Privacy Policy and the Retention & Destruction Schedule.
Status
We send texts through Textbelt. Appointment texts go only to people who ticked the "Text me about this appointment" box, and offer texts only to people who agreed to them by ticking the separate "Text me offers and last-minute openings" box. The shop's owner and admins also get booking alerts and site alerts on the number on their staff account; a barber's number is stored but not texted.
